COVID-19 & Eye Care

COVID 19 image4

Thank you so much for your patience and support during this time.

As the health of our patients and staff is our number one concern, we have carefully implemented enhanced protocols to provide eye care for our community in the safest way possible.

Our new modifications will include protective equipment, physical distancing, screening and sterilization procedures, and will minimize wait and overall visit times within the clinic. Please be assured that this will not compromise the high level of care provided to our patients. We will continue to monitor and adapt to the current provincial health recommendations and update our policies and practices accordingly.

• Patients will be asked to complete online registration forms prior to appointment to minimize contact during check-in.

• Patients will be asked to come alone. Exceptions will be made for those requiring a translator, when accompanying a minor or when tending to a family member with a mobility or cognitive concern.

• All extra unnecessary items such as food, drinks, coats, and large bags should be left at home.

• We require all patients/visitors who enter the clinic wear a mask. We have a very limited supply of surgical masks on hand and would appreciate very much if you are able to bring your own mask to your appointment. Cloth masks are acceptable.

• Immediately upon arrival, you will be guided to an area to thoroughly wash your hands.

• We have implemented a pre-appointment screening system. Patients will also be asked to answer screening upon arrival. Appointments will be re-scheduled if:

  • You have symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, muscle pain, chills, or recent loss of smell/taste.
  • You are awaiting test results or have tested positive for COVID – 19 within the last 14 days.
  • You have been in contact with someone that has tested positivefor COVID -19 within the past 14 days.
  • You have traveled outside of BC in the past 14 days.

• All rescheduled appointments will be evaluated by our doctors to ensure you receive care in a safe and timely manner. If it is an emergency, please call to consult and we will arrange for a referral.

• All staff members will also have their health status screened daily. Anyone with these symptoms will not be permitted to enter the office.

• Optometric Assistants and staff will be using personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with guidance from the provincial health authorities and best practices.

• The clinic will be rigorously sanitized throughout the day, including sanitizing surfaces and all patient touch points prior to and after each patient encounter.

• All eyewear will be cleaned and sterilized before and after each patient contact.

• Our Doctors will wear a mask during patient exams.

• Both doctor and staff will perform hand washing and sanitizing before and after every patient encounter.

• We prefer to ship contact lenses to your home/work and this is currently offered at no charge. Please visit our E-Store to order -COMING SOON!

• For any eyeglass pickups or frame adjustments, please schedule a time with our Optician at our Squamish or West Vancouver location.

We will do everything in our power to ensure a safe socially distanced environment for you and our staff, and will continue to monitor the current recommendations and update our policies and practices accordingly. Please don't hesitate to call or reach out through email if you have any questions at all.

We look forward to seeing you and your family while providing you with a safe environment you can trust! Thank you for your continued support and confidence in us.
